Decepcionante

Pros

Aparcamiento gratis según centro

hard but engaging, well paying work

Good pay and career progression, great work culture and good management. Work can be hit or miss sometimes dependent on day. Can often be very fast paced and stressful but rewarding

Drama

Management is drama , drama , drama . Fast pace . Repetitive. Room for advancement maybe? Communication is poor . And everyone thinks there better then everyone else .

Great pay

The pay is very good. Gives raises once per year.. while I was employed by Aldi they raised the start pay three times. The benefit are very fair and affordable

Good job short hours

Smaller store so had around 30 hours or so a week full time. Must be efficient at job, usually only run about 3-4 people a night on a smaller store. Heard bigger stores are better staffed.

Very productive workplace

Aldi isn’t for the lazy, you are always busy from start to finish. Lots of good leadership and management definitely works as hard as the employees. If you work hard advancement is easy.

Pros

Option to work at other stores when it’s slow

Contras

Different days off every week

Productive and Fast Paced

Everything is fast paced so you must be able to work fast and be focused. The managers are great and care about the employees and it's a good company to work for.

Pros

Pay, Employees and Hours

Contras

Physically demanding

Fast paced

Good place to work if you have a good work ethic. Fast paced and you’re expected to be able to perform all tasks well (till operations, restocking shelves, keeping the store tidy, processing deliveries etc) Can be hard physical work, shifts vary with at 6am starts and 10pm finishes. Busier times like Christmas require 5am starts. Most managers are good to work a shift with, one or two not so much. Most will have you out by 10:10pm on a close, but one where I work will have you out late, usually no earlier than 10:40pm due to disorganisation. Customers are ok, like any other retail job there are those that think retail staff are pretty low down the food chain.Overall an ok place to work, not for the faint of heart though.

Good work life balance

Decent pay. Management are good. Only 42.25hrs per week so work life balance is good. Lots of walking, trucks are ok, some old some new. Would recommend

Fast paced, never boring

Always keeping busy, running back and forth to ensure the store is well kept. About 4 people work per shift, 1 manager/3 associates. It is a good job if you don't like standing around, and being in a place where people like to work hard is nice. Management is good and respectful, mostly you only communicate with them when you are done with a task. You are to radio your manager when your done with your task to get another, until your shift is over. Overall Aldi isn't a bad place to work, if you like to challenge yourself. Moving up in the company can absolutely happen, but they do like to hire management from outside the company.

Pros

Good pay/benefits, paid break, hard working management team

Contras

Some days can be stressful

productive and fun work enviroment

I loved working here ! Management and co-workers were very welcoming and help you with anything you may have questions about. The enviroment including the customers made this job a great experience.

Good pay for mediocre work performance

The company itself has great benefits but the management at my store were difficult to work for. They don't care about people that are good workers. There were lots of people that called in/no showed and you were expected to come in early/stay late/come in on your day off.

Great pay and benefits. Not so much work/life balance.

In my experience with aldi we were short staffed almost the entire time I was with the company. It has quite some time since I worked for them but their pay rate is higher than other grocers and retailers because they run the stores with a smaller group and have guidelines set in place to keep costs as low as possible. Their benefits package was solid when I worked there as well they have full benefits after 90 days.

Pros

Pay, benefits.

Contras

Very busy stores, management can be overbearing

Money is good. Management not.

Poor management!! Schedule continues to change throughout the week. Favoritism shown. Associates treated badly and rushed by manager for personal after work reasons.

Pros

Pay

Contras

Poor management

Terrible, all about profit and no care for staff

Back in the day when they were paying well, being forced to work most weekends of the year was acceptable. Now, being one of the lowest paying hgv jobs around, most experienced drivers have left. Paying staff well doesn't maximise profit. Work life balance is terrible, almost lost my family not being there at all at weekends.Management repeatedly told drivers, our health and safety isn't their concern, any problems just get swept under a rug and ignored.Office majorly overpopulated with 'deputies' who spent their time either spying on drivers or taking their work to keep their hours down, no guaranteed pay anymore, contracted hours are not actually contracted and if they suspect you might leave they withhold your pay just incase you do. Several occasions in my last months I saw examples of this. Not a bad job if you're OK with all the above, aswel as loading and unloading into disgustingly dirty store warehouses with no room, being spoken to like dirt by store staff if spoken to at all, picking up badly stacked pallets of stock every day. Best for new drivers to get some experience before finding a proper job. Oh, and as a driver, you will be expected to restack and rewrap pallets, clean up after others, clean store warehouses and make your own space over and over again, and not complain about it as your paid below average, you're lucky to work there. Deal with it. Exact words from management

Lots of favoritism. Horrible time limits.

It is a fast paced and very physical. The Manager never appreciates what each individual do. Very disorganized Management system. They make time limit on everything.

Company doesn't care about employees.

Aldi is not meant for someone with small children. Full time employees have to have complete open availability Monday to Sunday 5am to 11pm with zero exceptions. Must work weekends. They will not allow you to tweak your schedule what so ever. Every week your schedule and shifts will change. It is very inconvenient for parents. If you cannot accommodate they will force you to part time where you get little to no hours and no benefits. They consider full time hours to be 32. As an average employee you will never have 40 hours a week. The only pro about this job is high pay and great benefits. It doesn't take long to get burnt out and feel unappreciated.

Use to be a great place to work.

Use to be a unique retailer. They did things their own way and were incredibly efficient at it. Now they try and run things like grocery stores that aren’t similar to them and now it’s run inefficiently. There is no promotion beyond store manager. So don’t apply here if you want to ever be in a position above the store level. District managers are hired out of college with no retail experience. They mean well but have no idea what they are doing until they have years under their belt. There are very few long tenured store managers in the area. That should tell you a lot about what you mean to them.

Pros

Always something to do.

Contras

Interrupted breaks, limited promotions, no education assistance.

If you like never having set hours, you'll love this place.

They expect employees to dedicate their lives to them. They want every bit of time your willing to give. Good employees get picked on for performance while the employees that goof off all day get promoted. They pretend their time clocks are down and refuse to compensate employees appropriately. They don't approve days off and refuse to do any schedule or time off requests in a timely manner. They tell you they will fix things and than do not. It's all about how much you can lie and suck up to certain people and not about actual performance. The management sits infront of their computers or phones and cannot coordinate a plan together to help associates succeed. And on holidays you end up working more hours because the supervisors and managers cannot plan ahead. And good luck getting hours that support living and your family life will suffer because they expect you to give your everyday to then. Some days you'll work 5 hours and some days you'll work 12 hours. And don't expect to get paid for the hours you work because your super awesome supervisor will forget to put you on the schedule and the time clock will happen to be down.. oh and don't use your pto because they will claim you never called the call in line even though you have 45+ hours of pto time.

Pros

None

Contras

Schedule, pay, working 3 weekends a month

Tedious, inefficient, little to no work-life balance, toxic management culture, lots of physical labor

I would not recommend working for ALDI. This company does not value its employees; in fact it treats them like children. There are little to no raises with the new pay scale and absolutely zero bonuses. You will not advance in this company through hard work, it all depends on who you know and who you’re friends with. There are no safety precautions at this job and you will be overworked and underpaid. ALDI will actively work against you if management deems you inefficient according to their standards, which do not remain the same for all employees. I do not recommend working here. You will be overworked and underpaid.
