Alpla es una empresa que paga poco y mal pero te da mucha libertad para crecer, hasta que te haces visible y tu jefe, gerente o director empieza a ver peligrar su puesto. Entonces inicia el via crucis, cambios repentinos, nuevas obligaciones, ascenso lateral mil maneras de hacerte renunciar.En Alpla sudamerica promueven a la gente "fiel" no necesitas ser capaz ni inteligente solo saber cumplir ordenes y loar al nivel siguiente de jefatura o sea que cumples ordenes sin meditar, ni pensar, ni siquiera necesitas ser inteligente para ser promovido. No progresas por capaz e inteligente, si no que obediente y abusivo, intolerante pero fiel y obediente, una vez se posicionan estas lacras laborales te pisan la cabeza, no te dejan crecer y no hay espacio para mas nadie, he visto mucha gente muy buena capaz e inteligente, muy superior a los limitados jefes y gerentes irse por cansancio en todo sudamerica.

Entras facilmente por la alta rotacion, llegas hasta cierto nivel rapidamente y si te gusta seguir ordenes te ira bien.

Was a tough gig - but you were allowed to do the right thing. If you want to work- have skills - not bad. Fair warning- job parkers weren't welcome.

Work hard and get rewarded for it

Great place to work, this team does a good job of finding who the top performers are and rewarding them. There has been a greater change and focus on growth and development for the team. Really this has been a great place to work the staff tend to get along great and advancement opportunities are available for the ones who work hard and show initiative

This is the worst place to work ever!!!! Staff changes every day as most people leave on their dinner break on the first day, understandable, this is the worst job ever, don’t bother and find something else, you’ll thank me.

No formal machinery operating trainings for junior employees

They never give you a formal training for operating packing machines, labeling machines and sleeving machines. But expect you to run & solve machinery issues.They don't train their supervisors on how to seal with staff related matters, they are totally clueless about the labour laws.

Management at the Iowa City EBM plant is terrible ......if you want unacceptable training and unachievable demands this place is for you!Those who run the plant and the Shift Supervisors really need to be trained in how decent management works !

Secure Stable Employment

ALPLA is a secure, stable, rapidly growing company. I never woke up and worried about whether or not I was going to have a job. Due to being a top notch plastic packaging manufacturer it is an essential business. During Covid business increased. For most of my career it was a enjoyable and rewarding place to work! I entered as a package operator and worked my way up to an office position simply by coming to work everyday and fulfilling my duties to the very best of my abilities. The fact that I was able to move up without having a 4 year college degree has endeared them to me. If this had been two years ago I would be gushing praises. However, ALPLA has shifted focus to one of very aggressive growth. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But due to the rapid growth current employees are handed extra duties on top of their full work load. Many are being tasked with completing tasks that would normally be done by at least two people. This is causing burn out. The company has not been quick to enact initiatives to ebb the flow of good employees walking out of the door. Currently morale is the lowest I have seen it. Management seems to either be oblivious or just not care. There is no urgency to fill the vacancies. The wages are not competitive with the surrounding businesses.

Pay and benefits are good but hard earned. Management leaves a lot to be desired and communication is non existent.

The job itself is easy enough or would be if each shift would consistently be fully staffed. Very high turnover rate among non salaried employees. 12 hour split shifts means every other weekend off but we are constantly being called in to cover for people who do not show up to work. Compensation is fair and there are plenty of paid holidays which is really the only thing that keeps me coming back every day. Management couldn't care less as long as production numbers are met. Training new hires is relegated to other low level employees and new hires tend to be brought on at a higher wage than people who have been there for years. The different departments tend to always be at odds with one another and communication between departments and shifts is almost non existent. Upper management will play favorites and that kind of toxicity easily runs from the top down. Overall it's a decent paying job with plenty of job security but you have to be willing to put up with the shortcomings that go with it.

Solid job not to many issues. Management has definitely gotten better over the years. Still need more staffing to help run and cross train The floor though

Very challenging work. You will learn something new every day.

If you are in management, you will constantly face new challenges and expect to have the answers to those challenges. But, you can develop your own ceiling with this company. Compensation and benefits are good for the industry.

Poor Management

Long 12 hour shifts with poor equipment which was mostly not fit for purpose .Management scared of the plant manager and an hr department only interested in protecting the companies profile and not the operators. Training is good and if you can actually get 6 days off with the pay back system its good work life balance .Salary is just over minimum wage for shifts ,weekends and nights, and its hard work. My advice ..go somewhere else unless your desperate.

Extremely poor management

Senior Management with no management exp or qualifications, constant mass exodus of staff. Almost entire workforce do not want to be here. Shifts are good with plenty of time off on paper - in reality you have to go in on your days off to cover absence for no extra pay (pay backs) part of your contract. No training given. FLT trucks unsuitable for job, working indoors for 12 hours on a gas truck = headache galore :(

I've work at Alpla for a while now and they treat you like the people in management is better the the workers on the floor,they mess up your checks,they point you for everything, they take forever to take off points,they do train anyone and get upset when something goes wrong. Ect..........

Alpla is a garbage company. You have crazy long shifts, and short breaks. You can inhale so much cardboard dust, a company has to come in and measure it. Stay away from this company! Alpla believes in chewing you up, lying to you and spitting you out. Go work for a company that values you as a human.If you were looking for a company that will support you, this is not it.
