No advancement in pay, manager isn’t too good.

They don’t care as much as they say about safety, there rule is safety first but when it comes to canceling a job because of the safety they keep trying to push you. No raises for a whole year I’ve been here even when asked, only thing good is they are flexible with scheduling

Pros

Scheduling

Contras

Pay, Traveling 80% of the time, management

If you like working hard to make others look good and will never get a raise then this is the place for you

Stop lying to your hardest working people. A lot of favoritism. And if you like seeing people come off the street for a position over and and get promoted after 5 months for by all means.

Contras

Pay upper management

Worst company ever

Low pay. Long hrs, no response from managers, can't get supplies or tech help or uniforms, workimg equipment is a joke The company does not care about you at all. Managers tell their boss stuff getting done but it sure is not!!!

Pros

None

Contras

Low pay. No help from managers or corporate long days non working equipment managers ignore you

Management doesn’t care about employees, only about getting what they want done, no matter the time of day you get to leave.

You go into work at 7am and don’t know what time you’ll get to go home. You can work 40-65 hours a week without notice. They won’t tell you until Friday if you have to work Saturday or not. The supervisors aren’t nice, the facility management doesn’t care about you or your personal life. Work/Home life balance they don’t care about. People working there are always looking for a different job as this one is decent paying, but only because of overtime. You don’t get hazard pay for the hazards you work with. It’s just terrible, treated very unfair and no possible way to move up unless you’ve been there 15+ years.

Pros

Good pay (only because of overtime) Good benefits

Contras

Short breaks, Don’t know when you’ll leave, No telling if you’ll work 40 or 65 hours a week, Barely any home time, Management doesn’t care

As a diesel technician, there is no room to grow. Managers are pushy to get things done on their time, not yours.

As a diesel technician, there is no room to grow. All the equipment is different and there is no constancy with brands of trucks. The tools provided are not enough. Managers are pushy to get things done on their time, not yours. No training was ever provided to advance my knowledge as a technician and if you asked to go to a class, my manager would not pay.

Nice employees

Management overworks and underpays their drivers, especially with these new accounts. No consideration for how hectic and heavy loads are on their employees. They just care about money. No real room for advancement without facing intentional obstacles. There is a lot of favoritism and misery within management. Don't let the company name mislead you. Everyone is leaving.

Pros

Free lunches, driving by yourself

Contras

Healthcare, no consideration, schedule
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Good training, but no life work life balance.

Provides training for HAZWOPER, Confine Space and other hazardous waste training. This position is good for someone who likes working a lot of overtime.

Good pace to make contacts for your next Job

You are only as good as your last mistakeLost count of how many dont make it six monthsThe good workers are held to a different standard than the slackers

Pros

Home time

Contras

its always your fault

Sliding

Clean Harbors use to be too pay. Now they pay one of the lowest wages in the industry. Management is very disrespectful to drivers. Upper management think drivers are a dime a dozen and are pushing experience drivers out the door while hiring drivers with no experience from truck driving school. They have the wrong people in decision making positions that are running the company into the ground.

Pros

None for drivers

Contras

Management that don’t respect drivers.

Corporate job life 101

As far as corporate job life, you could do worse. The benefits are pretty middle of the road and they brought the 401k match back. The hours are rough and the job can be physical. Most of my co-workers are decent people who do their job well but expect a lot of turnover. They really need to pay everyone more and we all know they can afford to do so.....but this is why the facility voted to go union. You can tell they try to promote management from within, but they've definitely made some poor calls in that area. Management has each other's backs way before any of the workers. But what else is new?

Pros

Room to move up and train in different areas, company tries to promote from within, people are nice and there are some job benefits

Contras

Managers protect their own at any cost, higher up managers come off as clueless/old boys club, low pay for the work expected, 12 hour shifts swapping between days and nights, frequent turn over

Short handed, with very little incentive to stay.

The money is good if you want hours. Other then that it is a struggle, with very little incentive to stay. Heavy work load, and always short staffed..

Toxic environment

This company has a very toxic management environment. Your told your opinion matter until you go to give your opinion at which point it’s not even heard
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Very clique like.

In my experience you are able to move up over a certain period of time in this company but I’ve noticed the people to move up are the ones that are close to management on a personal level. And the pay rates vary greatly at the same positions with no real guideline to it. Even though there is a company guideline to follow.

Pros

Holidays off

Contras

Sometimes 12 hour notice or less of your shift the next day

Seniority is a problem.

Seniority is a problem. They are too confused as a human. Most have no life. They are negative to new employee and they watch you as if they are policing you. They conceal their hate towards new employees and towards one another. They talk about you until you catch them doing it red handed.

Pros

They will train you if you ask. You will have 3 to 4 days off per week.

Contras

The job will give you blood pressure and heart problems.
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Just the worst..

You work 6 days a week 12 hours a day no time off. With people that care nothing about you or the fact that you get no time off while the people in the office just work 8 hours a day barking orders this place is a joke.

Pros

None

Contras

No work - life balance, dishonest managment, hazardous environment.
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Long days, good coworkers

Long work days but overall people are nice and you learn a lot. There are a large variety of trucks to operate. Some days the work is harder than others but that’s life.

Pros

Good coworkers, overtime available

Contras

More training
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Horrible management

Job itself is good and interesting but the management is horrible. Underpaid their employees, don’t value the ones that have been there the longest, lots of favoritism and retaliation in the form of cutting your work hours if you complain to management. “Good ole boys club” mentality there. Use it as a stepping tool and get out as fast as you can.

Great place for growth

Great if your looking to learn and grow. If you want to get into the environmental areas this place will teach you most of the stuff you will need to know.
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Ruins your health and no pay raises

If you want to drive to Morris east Chicago and lemont in your POV this job is for you this is possibly the worst decision I’ve ever made. Oh you live 20 mins from a plant okay we will send you to the plant that is 1 hour and 30 mins from your home oh and you’ll never get a raise and your co workers are a absolute joke supervisors are like little children or lazy human beings

Pros

Going home

Contras

Everything
