Dow Chemical is a great place to work. I have always felt respected, challenged, and generally cared for as an employee. Safety culture is top notch. Dow is a great place to have a career.

The place is extremely average. It's all going to depend on which plant you are in. Hydrocarbons is good, the poly labs are a nightmare. Stay away from Glycols/surfactants, as they are transitioning, and are in flux with scheduling and staffing. The leadership is okay, but they only really pretend to listen to their employees, and still do their own thing. The pay is average, you can find better down the road.

Awesome place to work independently!! Would work here again if i had a choice ! Cons, the full time position went down cause of covid buut overall they accommodated my hrs so i can earn at my full time earnings

Not the highest paying company but Dow gives you the opportunity to move into different roles. Plenty of money to be made. Best Safety oriented company that I've ever worked for.

Decent people with a terrible work life balance. Direct management was shady but Sr. Management seemed to actually care. Pretty tough environment and very fast paced. Good place to break into a craft and then come back to later in life. Tough for younger family.

DOW is a very poorly managed company who has no experience in training personnel. All they care about is their vacations and treating new employees like garbage. Don't apply cause you'll get terminated with no explanation

Learned a lot at the company. There is emphasis on developing new engineers. Reviews are held yearly and biyearly. New employee will meet with manager bi weekly in the beginning though.

Great company. Wouldn't start as an apprentice when it's a new program though. The company micromanages to much as well. Great pay, but swingshift is required.

Training takes about 3 years. Then plant exams plus city and guilds college work.Job can be very stressful, but excellent pay.Performance reviews every 6 months and annualised hours add to the pressure.

Union makes it impossible to be happy

Union has ruined the work mentally at Dow. Most employees complain about the company not paying but when you present a cost saving measure. The union employees shoot it down because it didn’t please everyone or wasn’t done exactly by union rules. Yet they still complain about the pay

Ambiente medio pelo. Demasiado amiguismo y acomodo. Todos inoperantes e in-útiles puestos a dedo. No recomiendo para nada. Vas a ser un empleado con jefes 10 veces más pelo-tudos que vos.

I enjoy going into work and don't ever dread having to go in. My coworkers are amazing and the pay is great. They offer very competitive benefits including 401k, maternity and even paternity leave.
