Como todos los trabajos tiene tu ventajas y sus desventajas tenía una buena experiencia en la entrevista y estaba bien emocionada yo empecé a trabajar durante Navidad como asociado de ventas era una posición temporal. Lo bueno es es pago , pagan bien y los cheques era semanal. Tienes una hora de almuerzo y un descanso de 15 minutos también, y los horarios son flexible. En el área de desventajas era buen difícil buscar turnos tú mismo lo escogías , pero tenía que estar pendiente porque la mayoría de las personas lo escogen primero que tú y te quedas hasta una semana completo sin trabajar una vez trabajé una semana 5 horas y otro 20 horas. La otra cosa es el ambiente es bastante competitivo hay personas que son permanentes y llevaba años ahí trabajando y ellos depende en la comisión de los clientes siendo una persona nueva tienes a alguien encima tuyo dándote el número de empleado de el/ ella para que obtenga la comisión. También Macy’s de Ponce es un ambiente bien tóxico los empleados no son de confianza , no hablen de una forma positivó hacía lo demás, y había una que discutió conmigo y formó una pelea conmigo bien feo afrente todo mundo. Durante navidad se llena de mucho clientes recomiendo que te prepares porque vas a trabajar bajo presión.

Good place if you wants to get more experience

Working at Macy’s it’s funny only if you like talk to people and you really love being used to cover and do the job of others people ! Every time as needed is your fault and “responsibility” to do the job of three people at same time, meanwhile you need to reach your daily goals.Add the poor management and the awfully coordination between managers , it is where you need to figure out; how would I do my job ? Workplace it will be frustrating , if you don’t know well about your responsibilities the same employees will take advantage from you , they need to get of rid the manners of all employees and how they relate. The result about all this negativity aspects is you need to experience this aspects every day at work.I recommend you Macy’s as first job to get more working experience and find something better.

The Staff gets lost in the shuffle a lot. You get blamed for supervisor mistakes.

Mostly cleaning up the floor, price checking and directing customers. The holiday pay is good. The downstairs bathroom is disgusting. Lots of scheduling mistakes. They go back and forth between being short staffed and not having enough hours to offer their employees.

You can pick up shifts in other departments.

Macy's has an amazing work culture and work/life balance! The job can be fully remote or in-person, which is nice. The pay is not as competitive, which is a downside

A typical day at work

It's fun and a great work environment. I like the Night shift hours. Gives me more daytime hours to go get things done and get some rest before my shift starts.

Messy

Very messy place to work! Management pretty laid back. Hottest part of the job is trying to stay organized. And being on your feet all day long. Enjoyable part of the job was getting your employee discount.

Okay Pay, Toxic Environment

They start at a very okay wage but the environment is incredibly toxic and there’s not much room for growth. Policies were maddening to both customers and employees alike.

Company is great, it's the public that makes it hard. If you have ever worked in retail you already know what I mean. It's best for your people and retirees.

Fun job pay is very low for the workload. customers leave clothes everywhere the fitting rooms are always a mess. The managers are okay they are on you about opening accounts.

It's a fine job when you're trying to make some extra cash. Also it's quite easy to take time off by offering up your shift to other coworkers on the database/online. Or to pick up extra shifts

Very productive and very fun to work at make tons of friends but it can sometimes be rough due to certain people making little groups I’ve never had any problems though

Productive and learning experience

It's a good first job to learn customer service and gain knowledge. Learning about sales and working with others really helps you what teamwork is about.

It was better then other places.

I loved working with my team. The environment was competitive for customers when there barely were any people shopping in the store. If you were supportive, they showed support back. Some managers would show appreciation, while others only cared about the numbers.

Everyone is fun to get to know and it was a very fun experience

The hardest part of the job is just being on your feet but it’s retail and it’s enjoyable because they have big brand names that you would know as a buyer which makes it easy to know as a seller
