Como todos los trabajos tiene tu ventajas y sus desventajas tenía una buena experiencia en la entrevista y estaba bien emocionada yo empecé a trabajar durante Navidad como asociado de ventas era una posición temporal. Lo bueno es es pago , pagan bien y los cheques era semanal. Tienes una hora de almuerzo y un descanso de 15 minutos también, y los horarios son flexible. En el área de desventajas era buen difícil buscar turnos tú mismo lo escogías , pero tenía que estar pendiente porque la mayoría de las personas lo escogen primero que tú y te quedas hasta una semana completo sin trabajar una vez trabajé una semana 5 horas y otro 20 horas. La otra cosa es el ambiente es bastante competitivo hay personas que son permanentes y llevaba años ahí trabajando y ellos depende en la comisión de los clientes siendo una persona nueva tienes a alguien encima tuyo dándote el número de empleado de el/ ella para que obtenga la comisión. También Macy’s de Ponce es un ambiente bien tóxico los empleados no son de confianza , no hablen de una forma positivó hacía lo demás, y había una que discutió conmigo y formó una pelea conmigo bien feo afrente todo mundo. Durante navidad se llena de mucho clientes recomiendo que te prepares porque vas a trabajar bajo presión.

Good managers care about the employees a lot

It was great. Very kind management. Always made sure we took our paid breaks and interesting scheduling system with the option to post or pick up extra shifts.

Good people

Fun job but pressure to get customers to sign up for store credit which made it uncomfortable in a lot of situations. Overall it was a great company with ok pay .

Productive and good place to work

I overall had a good experience, nothing to complain about. Staff was friendly no problems. Discount was ok management was ok. Overall a good place to work.

Macys is just terrible terrible horriable these ppl got as bad as only being able to offer 15-20 hrs at work a week like do u know how bad that is and knowing how the economy is like who can live like that but

Typical retail

Tried to keep thing afloat during covid but was located in a dying mall. Brought employees back and focused more on the online sales. Store management team was very supportive.

It's a job

It's pretty much a job to earn a few bucks to pay the bills. No need to go over the top, as management doesn't care about that. Clock in, do your job, clock out, and go home

terrible place to work

the managers are either lazy or uptight, my manager couldnt fix a schedule after asking numerous times. had to do the job of about 2-3 people and theyll try to keep you even during your lunch. the stockrooms are always dirty. if you value your sanity do not work here.

Corporate directives make it extremely difficult for Management in the store to actually achieve goals.

I do not recommend working for Macys. The culture and direct Management are great but the corporate directives and changes have made it extremely difficult to work and for Management to do their job. They make ridiculous changes according to "research" and are terrified at any negative press. often times there are only 2 to 3 employees per department and are constantly pushed to get credit accounts while being told they have to not only stock shelves and put out merchandise but also to clean and make customers their #1 priority. It's way to much work for not enough pay. They care more about sales than they do preventing theft. They have a major theft issue and only have 1 to 2 security on at a time. There are numerous people, sometimes in teams who go in, fill up a trash bag and run. They have a traveling security team and they do great work but its not enough. We're not allowed to secure or lock down really expensive items because it makes it harder for the customer to "freely" shop, so instead, its gets stolen. Were not allowed to intervein in any way. Loss prevention also looks hard at employees and often question them like they're thieves. If they don't want you there, they'll find a reason to fire you and there's nothing management or HR can do. Loss prevention holds all the power. Macys is not a great place to work and cares more about sales and meeting corporate goals that don't seem to be in line with reality or consideration for the people actually doing the work.

Good workplace

It can be short staffed great co-workers and and good manager but depends. Good base pay . It can become stressful at times. Breaks are hard to come by since you will have to wait for someone to cover you.

Horrible

Never got any hours. When you did get hours, work was hard and for poor pay. Most sales associates jobs are low paying, but you’re better off getting a retail job elsewhere. Maybe it’s gotten better since I left. I do remember a fairly quick hiring process though.

Perfect! I enjoyed working here, management great, extra perks when signing customers up for store credit card, so rewarding environment. I would work here again

Great job if you need one but not long term

Macy's department store is a great job if you want to enter into retail or you haven't worked in a long time. They hired me without an interview. I did work retail when I was younger. So that is a positive. However, they have a serious management problem at the store where I worked in the Domain. They don't have a manager up on the second floor at night. They have low staff. So, you are left to do sales, fitting rooms and closing the machines sometimes by yourself. They don't want to have actual departments anymore. You will have to attend to the entire second floor. The children's area often looks a mess and we can't keep up. They refuse to put a sign for a wait line that they had last year. Then there are two lines that often form around the register area. Customers will get upset when told they have to form one line when they could just bring back the sign and it would cause less confusion. They also didn't want to comply with my disability accommodations. They will tell you at first they will and then they won't. If you are new to retail or haven't worked in a while this is great for a while and then move on to better.

Unproductive and Unmotivating

It's your standard retail experience.Management doesn't care, you have unrealistic expectations, the holiday you have little to no support on the floor.Just a horrible time.

Good for experience

It’s a good place to get some experience but not a place to stay forever. Lots of politics and managers that have no idea what they’re doing. The pay is decent but this job will test your patience with customers.

Great co workers, but the managers were jerks! God forbid something happens at home and ,, they will right you up. All about getting credit cards! Management never supports the staff, just not good people to work for.

blatant nepotism

Hours regularly cut, too much work for too little pay, a severe understaffing issue is obvious when you try to line up, and there is only one cashier present.
