Productive and communicative working group

Evaluación destacada de Indeed

La evaluación más útil según Indeed
Communicative, easy to work with, and supportive Co-workers and Management. Asking questions is encouraged. Management is attentive to its employees and problem solves well. There is always work to be done so likelihood for training outside of your primary position is slim.

Pros

Full benefits, 40+ hours a week, cooperative and friendly work environment, team effort

Contras

Long hour days, little time off, not enough time for training in other positions

Excellent benefits, no work life balance, extremely slow about employee's being replaced.

Excellent safety program despite not allocating enough headcount to complete jobs. At the administrative level, employee replacement is very slow which stresses the remaining employees to pick up the slack. Some managers are totally lacking in people skills where their subordinates are concerned. Positive feedback, mentorship, and basic respectfulness are non-existent. Very limited advancement unless you have been brought in by one of the "chosen". In other words, it is very "cliquish"!

Pros

The company has a self funded retirement plan.

Contras

Management is less than desirable, no work life balance, always "on call", too many meetings interfere with productivity.

Great place to learn, advance, and grow.

This was one of the only jobs I have had that TRULY follows their own safety program practices. Management was always helpful and easy to work with. Never a shortage of work to do, even if it was just simple tasks.

Pros

Positive work environment. Pay scale was only SLIGHTLY below average, but the benefits package made the entire compensation VERY HARD to beat.

Contras

Outside in the weather. Some nights can go on longer than expected.

Generally, if you have to drive a mixer truck for a living look at any other company in Colorado first

This company is always looking for mixer drivers for a reason. If you are new, or have even been there many years, you may not even have an assigned truck. Their new hires equipment is all falling apart and dangerous. The dispatcher’s treatment of drivers is atrocious. Again, the dispatchers at this company are the worst people I have ever worked with. They are not helpful and if you find your way on their list you will suffer. They will blame you for equipment failure you cannot possibly have control over. They will blame you for loads that come pre messed up from the horrible batch operators. They will rush you and cause you to make mistakes by rushing you.You will not know when you start in the morning until 7 pm at night. If you are new, you will not know what plant or what truck. Working here is a form of self torture. You have to love yourself enough to find another job.

Pros

Their benefits are better than some of the other companies. But remember, generally this is a horrible industry to work for in this state.

Contras

A cruel dispatch office, Bad equipment, deadly bad, No set work schedule, Truck shortage, Terrible maintenance, they are running their equipment into the ground, The is a soul crushing company with no feeling of community.

Not a good job

Can’t believe what management tells you. They clam to take care of you but throw you under the bus if you get hurt. HR runs it so they look like they never have injuries.

Pros

Money

Contras

Management

A lot of hours but not much care for they’re employees

A good company for entry level Cdl B and they will also help you get your Cdl. They give weekly bonus but have a thousand reasons to take it from you.

Pros

Great benefits

Contras

Don’t pay what they should be paying

Mistreatment and disrespectful people

I've never worked in such a poor environment where they claim safety and good people and its complete opposite of that. The management there is poor and treat people rudely

Pros

They do have decent health benefits

Contras

Disrespectful and long hours and no family life
¿Te ha sido de ayuda esta evaluación?

Lots of hours and big paychecks.

Road maintenance and building is satisfying and sustainable work for everyone involved. Inspection of the roads upon completion by the state and county inspectors gives job satisfaction.

Pros

Free lunches sometimes.

Contras

Too many hours sometimes.

Stressful place to work as your being watch by others looking for an excuse to talk to you about safety .

There is a reason why you keep seeing the same post because the management horrible! They will lie to keep you there. You would think it’s a great job , I was wrong! Beware folks you’ve been warned.

Pros

Benefits

Contras

Long hours and little pay and a liar for a boss

Excellent management, amazing benefits, overall good place to work

Martin Marietta has to be one of the best companies I've ever worked for. They take their training very serious. This is a very safety oriented work place and I've met nothing but good people working there.

Pros

Good Benefits, lots of hours

Contras

Scheduling

Horrible management

Management is horrible, little to none, they only care about them selfs. Good company but horrible management. Pay is good and benefits, but you can’t trust no one there

Pros

Paid, Benefits

Contras

Horrible management

Newer, younger workers have near ZERO work ethic or team spirit

Learned a tremendous amount. HIGHLY discouraged by management's tolerance of newer, younger workers' lack of work ethic, team spirit and respect for management. Your only hope for advancement is to be with the 'in crowd/chosen ones'. Probably be better if you can pucker very well.

Pros

Pay, benefits, possible job security

Contras

Lack of work ethic, lack of team spirit, and lack of respect is tolerated. Work outside in any weather except lightning

Feast or famine

I have worked for this company for nearly 4 years. 75% of the time everything is great given that you're on top of your work. I work in a sales position. In my experience as long as you're not causing any issues and meeting expectations this is a good place to work. However, management is wavering to say the least. Martin Marietta is quickly transitioning into a corporate company - not as severe as Google or anything but their overall culture has been lost in the time I've been there. Management will throw you to the wolves once you are perceived as an issue and there is zero career path guidance. Often times it feels like the culture of this company is stuck in the 60's. Compared to others in the industry their pay is lacking, however because they are so large job security is good. If you choose to work here be prepared to feel like your career is on the line at least once a year for a period of about 2 weeks for something that was a mistake or misunderstanding, but the rest of the year you'll be fine.

Pros

Job security, friendly peers, access to technology and benefits

Contras

Below average industry wage, brutal culture

Great company and employees

Plenty of hours to work as long as weather permits, but some rainy days in May & June made it hard for me to stay with the company because I had 30 hours instead of the normal 65-70hrs per week. My boss was great, safety team was great, & they make your safety a priority. The benefits start day one but pay could be higher & more than 2 weeks vacation would be nice.

Pros

Great benefits

Contras

Not much time away from work and schedule changes daily

Good benifits and decent pay

Crazy start time hours but manageable. Decent pay and wonderful benefits. Not bad place to work sometime. They train you on just about everything and wen your ready they let you go in your own.

Pros

Pay benefits

Contras

Hardly weekends off

No home time and poor management

The way they worked me i was always the first one there and the last to leave everyday. They constantly ran me over my 15 hrs a day to the point I was terrified if I was to get pulled over and my logs checked (because it was on tablet I couldn't lie) it felt like I was never home. And normally had about 3 to 4 hrs a day to sleep before I had to be back

Pros

Decent benefits. Plenty of overtime

Contras

Never get breaks. Youre nothing more than a dollar sign to them

Good Pay, Demanding Hours, Easy Job, Poor Managment

Hours fluctuate drastically from day to day. For example: You may work a 12 hour shift and get off at 3pm and have to be back at work by 11pm for another 12 hour shift. There is absolutely no home life because of the way the schedule is managed. You typically work 70+ hours a week. Work almost every Saturday. Off on Sunday, but you might go in at midnight, so you spend a good portion of your Sunday sleeping.Pay is fair but could be better. Benefits are great and you get bonuses for meeting certain numbers of deliveries each week. This can give you a great pay boost. You get paid weekly and get tons of overtime. Whoever is in charge of schedules will try to give you less than 8 hours between shifts and you might have to fight it. If you take off for being sick or any other reason, they give you messed up shifts afterwards as punishment. You will get fired if you talk on a handsfree device or just touch your phone while on camera. There are cameras in the cab facing the drivers.

Pros

Good pay, overtime, bonuses, plenty of work, provide all safety gear

Contras

Schedule, management, poor plant upkeep

Good job but not great

If you intend on coming into this company As a trucker in the asphalt division you must be willing to shovel with everyone else. As the foreman says " you are a laborer with a fancy license". Good thing about the job is you get job attached unemployment and get to relax in the winter. Bad thing is you will be working 6 days a week anytime that it is not cold outside.dont make any plans either because you are boy getting off the clock until the job is finished. Also asphalt division class A cdl drivers are paid a lower wage than concrete division mixer drivers. Asphalt driver starts at 21 and and tou won't make over 24. Concrete starts at 25 and they go up to at least 30.

Pros

Good Healthcare coverage, 150$ boot allowance, they have literal vendong machines that you can grab glasses, gloves, new hardhats, vests and much more whenever you need it. Good pto and you get all the inportant holidays off.

Contras

Pay can be much better, not much room for growth in the company, not year round in asphalt division

Good pay with long hours

Martin Marietta is the top dog when it comes to road paving. They also take their safety very seriously, which is nice. They pay very competitively and their benefits are awesome. That being said, once you get into this large company you become just an employee number. Your personal life and personal responsibilities are not held to as high of regard as their jobs are. So flexibility is not one if their highlights. Also, some of their foreman have big egos and even bigger mouths, which can make working with certain egotistical foreman quite difficult. Also they work you to the bone. 12 hour days sometimes, only Sunday off sometimes, and attached unemployment over the winters. However, like I said, they are very safety conscious, they pay competitively, and their benefits package us awesome.

Pros

Competitive pay, great benefits, and lots of work

Contras

No flexibility, employees are just numbers, very long hours

Management is extremely Unprofessional

The management at Granite Canyon is extremely Unprofessional & non caring. Management has their favorites. They keep changing the schedule every week. The schedule is not good for personal life.

Pros

Free lunch once a month.

Contras

Toxic work environment.

Only hiring Foreign employees

I would not recommend this company to any U.S. citizen. This particular location and department only hires foreign workers that do not know the software and uses the language barrier as an excuse for why they make mistakes.
