Productive and fun workplace

A good company to start as a trainee. Lots of opportunities to learn and grow. The salary was lower than market average though. But I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the firm.

Cheap and they don’t care

They do not like that you go over the budget for the project. However they don’t provide the support you need to not go over it. Also they say that it is okay to go over the budget because you are still learning. The company is also very cheap. Only give you one week of severance pay and will ask for the technological supplies back like the monitor.

Consulting group is growing but lacks direction. Great people but not many experts. Growth mindset over really giving anyone an idea of how things should be done or focusing on top quality deliverables. Worthwhile stepping stone into consulting and looking to grow into higher tier shop. Remains to be seen if this happens, though.

Great external auditing experience
Trainee Accountant (Antiguo empleado) - Pretoria, Gauteng - 25 marzo 2022
Wake up at 4:00am to beat PTA-JHB traffic. Most clients were in JHB. Start at client around 7:00am. Work until 4:00pm if client agrees. Leave client on time or work overtime if on a deadline. Latest i went home was 1:00am. "Articles will make or break you" they say, i honestly felt like it did both. I am a stronger person mentally and technically as a result of my articles experience. Your fellow trainees are your best friends! HR is quite amazing expecially the PTA office HR. If your laptop broke, it was fixed immediately but the amazing IT personell in PTA/JHB. The hardest part for me was the travel everyday, you basically come home to sleep and do it all over again the next day. The most enjoyable part was gaining lifetime friends - your fellow trainees. All managers or partners you work for during your time here are not the same. You need to adjust to their different management styles which can be quite stressful. But if you have a solid support system like friends and family and your fellow colleagues, the end will come sooner than you think! Enjoy this busy time, you will wish you could go back to it once you are out!

Not a bad place to work

Strict work hours with no flexibility. Very quiet office, salary only increased when they found they couldnt recruit at the salary I was on. Team members doing same job paid more. Old fashioned practices and stuck in the 1990s.

Ambiente de trabajo bien por los compañeros.Pero una gerencia envejecida con una mentalidad vieja y pasada. Todos se encuentran en su cubículo y generalmente a puerta cerrada.Sus instalaciones de cara a clientes y reuniones es actual, pero los puestos de trabajo no. Estas rodeado de archivadores; mesas viejas; sillas para nada ergonómicas y sin reposa brazos; una iluminación amarilla; puestos de trabajo sin condiciones básicas como una pantalla, teclado y ratón; a los pies siempre chocas con algo o te enredas con un cable suelto. Los seniors no cuentan con teléfono de empresa, por lo que debes usar tú número personal. Con sus correspondientes mensajes de WhatsApp y llamadas a deshora.En general quieren mostrar una imagen renovada y actual, pero internamente no es así. Se encuentran a años luz de una Big4.

Ubicación de sus oficinas en Paseo de Gracia, pero no acompañan sus instalaciones.
Contras
Carencia de herramientas tanto en la oficina como asignadas según tus funciones. Básicamente, portátil sin conexión a internet y mochila.

Une entreprise de calibre mondiale, mais à échelle humaine. Voilà qui résume bien Mazars au Canada. Mazars se démarque par le soutien au développement professionnel de ses employés, mais également par la diversité de l'équipe ce qui est une autre de ses forces. Nous pouvons avoir comme client de très grosses entreprises internationales et en même temps la startup. Les nouveaux bureaux dans le cadre enchanteur du Vieux-Montréal reflète bien cette culture axée sur le mieux-être. Mazars est également très sensible aux causes environnementales et humanitaires. Plusieurs initiatives sont développées en ce sens.
