Decent job with weekly tip out, terrible hours

The work at Red Robin is decent. Biggest problem there is hours. I was promised full time upon hire, but 6 months later I still work 20 hours a week. Management expects you to close the restaurant in 30-45 minutes even though there's so much work to be done that it will take you at least an hour on most days. Everyone there is nice to work with. However, the unrealistic expectations combined with minimum wage and terrible hours makes things incredibly stressful for those who are trying to get 40 hours a week. Would heavily recommend for those looking for part-time hours, but that's about it.

O liked it at first but it seemed like i was working more than i was at home. I really didn't have a life outside of work.I didn't like working all day when you didn't get off your feet for more than 5 min.

Very clicquey workplace. If you’re in, you’re in. If you’re not, you’re not. Generous meal packages, good hours, and culture could go either way depending on which side you fall on.

So I was with red robin for a little under a year and in that time the job was awesome as far as the work and my co workers. However, the complete lack of any form of management is completely non existent and the entire place is filthy. Don't expect anything more the 25 hrs. Don't expect to get a raise anytime soon. Expect that every week you'll be sold out of some form of a product. Expect that there will be 1-2 call outs in a shift. Expect to be consistently understaffed and overworked Overall this is a very decent job but the management team is so bad at their job that you end up dreading coming in.

This job was overwhelming because they put less people to cover shifts then you was finishing doing the job of 2 people yourself. Always people calling off. No raises or bonuses.

Very busy, fast-paced place to work. Enjoyable if you can handle it. Coworkers/management were always helpful. Great teamwork. 1/2 priced food for employees.

A lot of work

Management is very kind. I loved it when I started however new people got promoted over me and the work was a lot (bussing tables as a host with no tips). The scheduling isn’t great and lower position people are just expected to help out higher positions all the time. It is a fun environment and managers are kind but it’s so much work.

i didn’t realize when I first started there that hosts don’t get part of the tip share, which is something to make note of. otherwise a nice environment to work in but at time felt very unorganized

The employees are super nice. The managers are alright. They don't give a lot of hours. I feel like they're going to go out of business soon. Not many people stay at the restaurant for long.

There is little to no communication between management hierarchy. If you request PTO, you might get the time off but they do not utilize your PTO. If you’re scheduled to train in a new position, you might get your first day but they rarely follow through to completion. Huge job-changing decisions come from corporate and they do not accept feedback for improvement at your location.

They have very Flexible scheduling, really fun upbeat environment. They food comes out fast so you can flip tables extremely fast. It is very high volume and fast paced.

The managers are useless to the kitchen. They are "office managers" therefore they don't wear uniform and don't help on the line they stand there and watch you work to see if your gonna make a mistake or not instead of helping. I didn't get any hours I was a part time worker hired in as full time I learned everything and stayed for 3 months no raise or nothing worse job ever

Red Robin is great if you’re looking to put some quick cash in your pocket. If you already have serving experience, working here is straight to the point. There is a lot of support between the food runners and bussers (SPs) that make the job easier.

Horrible management soured experience

Management was often passive aggressive and incompetent. They micromanaged employees while not helping in any meaningful sense. I was never given proper training and was often expected to fulfill roles for which I had no preparation. The culture was cold and hostile to outsiders. My time felt wasted by a manager who seemed more interested in his standing with corporate than by doing right by his employees.
