Flexible Job, Consistent Money, Lackluster Management

Job was flexible and you're able to make consistent money as a server. Highs and lows aren't as extreme as other serving gigs in my experience. Lots of favoritism in management which was also lackluster. Location started with many senior staff members (3-5+ years), but nearly all have left at the time of this review.

Not bad but quite busy sometime

Quite enjoy actually, people in there are nice and willing to talk to you. Working processing are easy once you learnt and just following the step to go

Decent place, but very stressful

From day one, we put immediately to work with just a simple 2-5 minute introduction. Doesn’t seem bad enough until you realize that most of the time you’ll be dealing with work suited for a team of 6 or more with only 3-4 working at a time.

Fast past, friendly, easy going

Everyone was pretty friendly towards one another, it's a very welcoming place and the managers were very understanding and actively involved with the whole restaurant.

Pros

25% off a meal when not working, 50% when working, and a free meal for a double shift

Contras

Little to no break, loongg hours

Okay place to work

Most of the managers were nice and they were flexible with my school schedule. I enjoyed making coffee and decorating cheesecakes. The hardest part was having to be in the freezer 15-20 pulling out cakes in the morning.

Good job but no balance of home life m

Worked there before the pandemic so it might have changed but there was no quality of home life. The company was good and it did have a great culture but sometimes a bit much

you have to be tough.

just be tough and hardworking. high output place. can be fun. teamwork is key. it's nonstop moving. if you work in pasta that's the toughest station. they get hit hard . but the place is great on your resume and the company does take care of you and will give you raises. just don't complain and do your job. not for lazy people. they have all kinds of programs and benefits. dishwashers keep that place running so all my respect to them.

Pros

free meal, benefits, 401k, car program for chefs

Contras

if you have to close every single night, you will burn out.

Fun environment

No complaints. This was a great first restaurant to work at. All of the staff is super outgoing and is easy to get along with everyone here. It is a restaurant so keep your expectations as they are.

Management sucks!!!

The job was great at first, until you finally realize that the staff are actually not for you. They were childish and petty managers when I was there, and they didn’t care about your work/home balance. They skimmed my money and cooked the books! It was literally dog eat dog at work. Always stressful because management lets their favorites run the show for the most part.

Pros

Cheesecake!

Contras

No breaks, Management

The Cheesecake Factory employment review:

I love working for this company! It’s a high volume restaurant so as a serve I’m constantly busy. You must be of an experienced skill level if you want to take full advantage of the server pay here. The management and staff are lovely and after almost three years of loyalty it feels like home now more than ever. 10/10 strongly recommend

Bakery will be one of the hardest jobs you’ve ever had

I worked out at the St. Louis location, and to this day it was the hardest job I’ve ever had. Be prepared to be stressed, lift a bunch of heavy cheesecakes, and work long shifts. My first day was a Friday night and I left crying. Most days by the time I got off work I could hardly make it up to my apartment. The environment is extremely fast paced, and at the location I worked at the only breaks I ever got were sitting on the toilet, even working 12 hour shifts. Once, a coworker I had who was breast feeding couldn’t even take breaks to pump because they refused to bring more staff in to cover. The on site management was amazing, but I think the problems with staffing mostly came from corporate. The whole thing could’ve been a lawsuit, honestly, and we could’ve won. Most of the time working there it was either just me or me and one other person fulfilling 10-15k in just cheesecake orders every night. The culture at the restaurant was great, everybody was super friendly for the most part and everyone was willing to be part of the team and put their fair share in. The pay was okay and they worked well with my schedule as a college student. The company also has great benefits if you work full time, and for the most part they are pretty graceful when things happen and you need to take time off. I know the servers make BIG MONEY, but you have to go through a week of classes and be extremely well versed on the menu, as well as pass a shadow exam with another server to even get on the floor. They are extremely thorough about who makes it through and who doesn’t, so even if you get hired, -

Pros

Free food, adequate pay and benefits, good management

Contras

No breaks, on your feet all day, heavy lifting, high demand positions

Don’t work here

It starts off great don’t get me wrong but the second you don’t feed into what they want (ie. always take shifts they ask you to take, do their dirty work, stay late regardless of plans) they start to turn on you. They ask you to go above and beyond and then don’t do the same for you. Don’t wanna come in on your day off? Here’s a terrible section or barely any hours. Cross trained? Here, close the night before you have to be in to open the bakery at 9 and then double that day. Every. Weekend. Over 200 employees yet it’s still hard af to get a single weekend off for yourself. And the pay itself isn’t worth it. Bakers make dirt for what they’re responsible for and servers get 4-5 tables max in their section so good luck if you’ve got some campers.

Great restaurant to work for

Love working here, the environment the people and the ethic is beautiful. Everyone does their part to come together as a collective and achieve the goal of absolute guest satisfaction.

You're better off working elsewhere, cheesecake factory in towson is terrible

I was a cook here for 6 years and i'm embarrassed i wasted so much of my life. This is a BILLION DOLLAR company. Yet the pay is poor, the benefits are minimal, the kitchen is cramped and usually dirty, they don't even give out breaks, you have to work your full shift nonstop. The chances of promotion or advancement are slim (unless you're sleeping with a manager). They blatantly prioritize their profits over the employee experience which is why the turnover rate is absurd. So overall , if you don't mind being overworked & underpaid, this is the job for you!

Good pay for work required.

Generally a pretty busy restaurant allowing for opportunity for high tip outs. Hours were pretty flexible and management and co-workers were good at least during my time.
