if you would like to relocate with Visa expect really low salary and many of unexpected bad things from management. Usually Visa inherits projects from other body shops who's already screwed up and you will have to have a deal with all this dirty code. No opportunities to grow since it is just a body shop, they will sell your time to customers.

Decent and comfortable place

Really good work life balance. Decent compensation. Opportunities to work on different technology both modern and legacy. Would have hoped for slightly more mentorship but good enough

Great company with great politics

Great vision. Al Kelly was a fantastic leader, very engaging and employee focused. There is a lot of bureaucracy when you have tenured leaders. Awesome benefits.

Solid company, kind culture and many opportunities

Visa is a solid company where one can build a long and satisfying career but you will have to take initiative as it is a large company where many can get lost. It’s not perfect and there is room for improvement but it’s the best place I’ve worked at.

Great workplace

The company's work culture is exemplary, promoting collaboration and innovation. Learning opportunities are abundant, though workload occasionally intensifies. What is the best part of working at the company?Clout - sounds prestigious when you tell people where you work. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Tenured employees are well below industry wage, but expected to perform at or above expectations What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Siloed organizations, information hoarding, nepotism, selfish, and majorly pro employer What is a typical day like for you at the company?Sisyphus. That’s pretty much it, 2 steps forward, 1 step back. “This is a great idea!” “But not how we do things here”

Too focused on leaders who don’t know how to lead

Visa is a good, solid company but the management structure and leadership talent leave much to be desired. Very cookie cutter. Promotes same people who have not proven themselves. Every VP and above manages UP, not caring a hoot about the folks doing the actual work. No real path/plan for career progression. A lot of talk, no action

Great place to work

Good WLB, good benefits, really great pay for what I do. A big downside is how separated management feels from the rest of the company. Other teams feel very separated from each other as well. The culture is great though, and I do get the feeling that Visa cares about their employees. Great job security.

Great Culture and Benefits but Changed Over Time

I've worked for Visa for almost 7 years as of writing this review. I was able to experience being a Fraud Analyst under their Screening Management side but most of my time with Visa, I was in the Dispute side. At first, Visa was definitely a top competitor in terms of employment. They do and still have great benefits but over time in my experience the salary is still not that competitive and is lacking for the amount of work that they require you to do. I only stay at Visa due to the exceptional benefits. In terms of Work/Life Balance, they only allow good work/life balance when your line of business SLA allows you to. In terms of Management, in my experience, it has been great for the start of it but as time went on and there have been change in personnel in the management are I feel like we had transition from a global leading company to just a typical call center style wherein they became very strict on everything and even going as far as having this system that tracks everything you do while of course on shift that I personally think is creating a toxic workspace. And lastly, Overtime is almost a must even though they don't call it mandatory, you can consider it that way to how the management pressures you to commit OT every week. This is not only on the peak season but this may vary and be due to the line of business SLA.

HR can work on transparency

HR is not transparent in their selection process of conversion of contract staff to full-time. Waits till less than one week to update before the contract ends. When asked for the reason, HR asks back contract staff to guess.

Good team, uninformed management

There are some great engineers working at Visa, and they fully supported my efforts to provide a streamlined API documentation process. The problem is that there are not enough people in management who really understand technical details enough to "get" what is needed and respond effectively to good solutions.

Good workplace, bad pay

The role is under compensated but it has good WLB. The management is usually pretty supportive and helpful and seems to be working toward your best interest.

Great culture, relaxed environment, room for growth

Visa is a great place to work. I enjoy working with my manager and all of my colleagues. Visa is transparent and open with their communication and expectations. The Visa brand is pushed throughout the company along with our 5 leadership principles.

I am entering as an intern. This company provides everything it can to help you be successful. From training, good supervisors, a acting work environment this is the place to be.

Good place to work

The company and people I worked for are all wonderful. I felt all my supervisors there were highly trained. The pay was very fair compared to other jobs in the area. There is possibility to move up within the company. Training is always offered.

Extremely Variable Experience

Some teams have adapted really well with modern tools to handle the expected workloads from management, other teams suffer from extreme technical debt -- outdated tools, a sea of portals and permissions, basically workflows that are scrapped together. A large part of this is because Visa never sleeps. It has to process payments 24/7, there will always be new client demands and things to be done, so there is little time to really go back and dig yourself out of the practices that don't work or bottleneck productivity. The structure, organization, and scope of technical teams is also extremely confusing.
