Good place to work

Good place to work but the hospital is pretty old and run down. I worked in the OR. leadership was great. Had to stay over my shift a few times with no warning but was often allowed to leave early when cases were done.

Best Job I've had

I loved this job I only left because I was in school and couldn't continue to work fulltime. I fully intend to go back. The only downfall was that I lived 40 miles away and traffic in that area sucks

Pros

Federal government benefits, lax, co-workers

Contras

commute, traffic

Food Service Worker

Overworked, pay is okay. Wonderful benefits. Management is terrible, they don’t care about your personal needs. If you work in NSD try to transfer to another department.

Cool people, bad management

Worked there roughly 3 years and it was actually so stressful. No civilian/active duty comradely and it just seems like everyone is out to get eachother

Very productive, quality oriented.

Rule of the day arrive on time. Take over from the previous shift. Clean and disinfect the bench you are assigned to. Run Quality controls, and do daily maintenance. Run any Stats first. Check Machine for sufficient Reagents etc. Run your tests. All critical test results to be double checked and called a d documented according to Protocol. Cooperate with Management to get the task done. Work place culture "Patient care comes first." Be professional, Respectful, and do not forget Moral Ethics. Never fear to wet your hands when there is a need. Hardest part of the job is to accept injustice when there is demand command. Most enjoyable and reward at end of the day is to feel satisfied that you were a part of helping a patient make it. You did your best.

Great place to work and you can excel with your skills and abilities to do the job

Working environment is great, no pressure to perform or do your job if you know how to do it.Hiring process from HR leadership could be distracted to hire people without knowledge

Pros

Contras

leadership lock of knowledge to some programs and software

Productive and fun place to work. I learned a lot of skills, ECG, strept test, papsmear, T-cons, relay health…

Great co worker, learned a lot. Got employee the month Award. The management was fair. Try to accommodate everyone’s PTO request. The difficulty I had was parking. The hospital doesn’t have enough parking for the employees so I had to pay 12 dollars per day to park somewhere near by the hospital.

Pros

manageable work load

Contras

Short break and parking problem
